Arriving home

One of the most amazing moments for me, I will never forget, was the day Rob, Finnley and I came home from the hospital as a family. We buckled Finnley into his car seat and drove together for the first time as a little family. As we drove up to our house balloons were on the mailbox and all of our family sat in the kitchen waiting to greet us. Rob had arranged with my mom to have a huge bouquet of fresh white flowers and my favorite candies and drinks waiting for me. When I saw them, I immediately went back to my bedroom with Finn sat on my rocking chair and started balling! All this emotion ran through me, I remember thinking... Rob and I had been preparing for this moment for 9 long months. The moment you bring your baby home and introduce him to your world. Life was forever changed for the better!

FINNLEY FOUCH HAS ARRIVED

So I'm back from a brief hiatus. So much has happened!! The biggest being our brand new baby boy Robert Finnley Fouch. And BOY! is he the love of our lives. He was born July 1st at 4:10pm 7.6oz 21 inches long. It was the MOST amazing experience that Rob and I have ever gone through. He and my mom were in the room with me coaching me through the whole delivery. God gave me soooo much grace through the whole delivery. 5 minutes after delivering Finn I told Rob I could do this 10 more times!! (not literally but probably 4) haha.

Finnley's room

After lots of thoughtful planning, we came up with a design for Finnley's room. We found it only fitting to go with a fun whimsical design like Lost boys. Rob is the most amazing husband/soon to be daddy in the world, he lasered on the yellow stripes.

My parents (who are out of this world amazing) came over and helped us finish painting the room yellow (as well as little odds and ends we needed help with). One wall (not shown) is all chalkboard paint, so little Finn can go crazy drawing on the walls.

This was actually my tent when I was a little girl, go figure. We thought it would be such a fun place for Finn to crawl in with a flashlight and read at night. The rhino head is from Anthropologie and made out of paper mache french books. Sawyer (our dog) had to be the picture. He's ready for Fin to play with him!
My wonderful in-laws gave us the gift of a crib as one of our presents at Christmas. We decided on this modern crib from modernnursery.com. It converts into a great toddler bed too, kill two birds with one stone. The day we flew back home from our babymoon, the crib had arrived in the mail. Rob was so excited, he made me wait downstairs while he put the bed together all by himself. After he finished, he blindfolded me and took me upstairs. It was LOVE at first sight. Now all we need is a baby boy to lay in it.
Now time to tackle a rug, changing table, curtains and rocking chair. 14 weeks left!!! So excited.

Babymoon

We just got back from Naples, Flordia for our Babymoon. Oh boy, was it fab-u-lous. We did nothing but lounge by the water, eat, eat, eat some more and read, well maybe throw in some shopping too. I broke down and wore a bikini... never thought I'd do that while being 6 months pregnant. It was a bit freeing. ha.

i heart these...

If you guys share my fondness for macarons and whoopie pies then you will be ecstatic to learn about these two new books coming out by Chronicle books this Spring.

Another piece of fabulous information I heard through the grapevine... Starbucks is jumping on the band wagon and will start carrying macarons in select stores... who knew Starbucks was so Parisian?

dreams come true

Four years ago when Rob proposed to me in St. Louis, he had made a map of all places we had talked about traveling. Also on that map he placed a picture of four boys (which were suppose to represent our future children). The crazy thing was on the map was a Finnley!!! To think four years later that vision would be coming true. To me, it's a testament to how much power your words have.... haha!! It makes be think of the verse in Habakkuk 2:2 "write the vision and make it plain on tablets." It's a good verse for the New Year... right your visions/goals/desires down!!

Baby Fouch is..........

Robert Finnley Fouch (Finn) will be here July 8th, if not earlier. We look forward to meeting him. I hope he has his seatbelt on because he's going to join our adventure.
